About Our Name

ALCEMIS stands for Authentic Leaders Cultivating and Enabling Meaningful Innovative Solutions.

Leaders own the culture of their organizations whether they want to or not. Who you are and how you lead matters. The old ways of leading are getting in the way of delivering purposeful prosperity in an ever-connected world. 

This is a call to move beyond surface-level change and into transformation that matters. 

The ALCEMIS name plays with the word alchemy – the ancient art of transformation – because that’s what we help leaders do: turn complexity into clarity, friction into flow, power over into power shared, and meaningful ideas into lasting innovation.

Our founder, Laura Delavie, was originally inspired by The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, a story about pursuing purpose with courage and trust. She wanted to find a way to thread this message into the work we do. Shortly after forming the company in 2007, she officially claimed the title Chief Alchemist a nod to the creative, catalytic role she plays in helping clients unlock what’s possible.

At ALCEMIS, we work at the edge of what is known and what wants to emerge. Where insight becomes action. And transformation becomes real.

Meet the Founder: Laura Delavie

Laura Delavie, M.A., is the Founder and Chief Alchemist of ALCEMIS, LLC, and a trusted guide for leaders navigating complexity, innovation, change, and cultural transformation. With over 20 years of experience, she has led Fortune 500 companies, healthcare organizations, and entrepreneurial teams through high-stakes change – helping them go beyond change to evolution.

Laura brings a rare fusion of strategic precision, systems thinking, and creativity to her work. She draws upon research and learning in innovation practices, cultural anthropology, and the art and science of behavior change – but what truly sets her apart is her ability to translate insight into action, delivering lasting results at a sustainable pace.

She’s known for asking the kind of questions that get to the root of the problem, building trust quickly in even the most fractured teams, and helping organizations imagine and implement better solutions for better work – and a better world.

Laura holds a master’s degree in Change Leadership with a specialization in Organization Development and a double-major bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Communications with a Business minor. She is a certified Partnership Practitioner, an Integral Associate Coach, a certified Creatrix® consultant, and a MN Rule 114 Qualified Mediator. She has been a certified facilitator of the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method since 2007.

About Megan

Megan Rounds, Ed.D., SHRM-CP, founder of perculcha, helps small businesses stop duct-taping their HR. Through her practice, she brings values-driven, compliance-savvy, human-first support to Minnesota companies with big dreams and no HR department. Think foundational systems, intentional culture, and straight talk without the corporate blah-blah.

She’s a Navy veteran turned fractional HR partner with decades of experience across industries: global manufacturing, healthcare, nonprofits, transit, higher ed, and more. Credentials? She’s got them (BS, MA, Ed.D., SHRM-CP), but more importantly, she knows how to translate all that theory into practical, people-centered strategy.

Megan enjoys working with clients on the messy, unclear, or emotionally weird. She leads with curiosity and clarity, and has a talent for naming the elephant in the room (kindly, but directly).

She’s not building “best practices.” She’s helping you build your practices—ones that work for real people in your actual business. Along the way, she helps you make the essential mindshifts that turn surface change into what actually sticks.

Megan has worked with ALCEMIS as a support facilitator on projects using the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method as well as being a co-lead on the u-lab2x 2023 prototype team.
